Flexibility in supply chain important

The economic crisis of the past two years, has shown that a flexible structure of the supply chain is essential. The quick response to (large) demand changes or even complete collapse in demand, is essential.

Flexibility, which can be chosen in outsourcing stocks (see outsourcing) and / or transportation. Continuous attention is required for your working capital position (see working capital).

Even now, with an improving economy, flexibility is still the key. Not enough inventory and/or not enough transport capacity, could lead to non product sale and turnover losses. We think along with you.

Significant changes to cross-docking legislation related to hazardous substances

Significant changes have taken place in the area of transhipment or, rather, cross-docking of hazardous substances through the "Dutch draft decree to retract the Household goods sound information decision and repair of defects of a subordinate nature from a legal-technical and contents point of view in a number of decisions related to the policy fields of the Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment (VROM)".

The new decision ensures that all (shipping) companies in the Netherlands must have a licence when at any point in time they have more than 10 metric tons of ADR products (both in storage and for transhipment) as from 1 October 2010.

Transhipment has always been an exception in environmental law in the past and in the surrounding EU countries. In addition to these changes, the Dutch Ministry of VROM is also currently amending the PGS 15 (Publication Series on Dangerous Substances 15) guideline that also contains a section with rules and regulations for temporary storage or, rather, transhipment!

Additional enforcement has been announced with regard to the transport sector for 2011 to ensure that unambiguity can be achieved. This enforcement will mainly take place during the night.
